A reciprocating saw is a type of machine-powered saw in which the cutting action is achieved through a push-and-pull ("reciprocating") motion of the blade. Outside of demolition and remodelling, a reciprocating saw can be used for sawing through nails, metal sheeting, and pipes. They are also used for more specialist jobs such as cutting concrete, stone, ceramic tile and even glass.
